I'm Abbey. I'm a girl in my 20s just trying to survive this life! Just a few years ago in late 2022 I was a girl who hated every sport going (I didn't even know the offside rule for football) and couldn't face the idea of going to any kind of live sport or doing any kind of sport or exercise herself!
That was until December 2022 when I went to the Motorpoint arena to watch a Nottingham Panthers game against Glasgow Clan. From that moment I fell in love with ice hockey, the Nottingham Panthers and Paws (who couldn't love Paws!). Since that evening in December 2022 I've been supporting the Panthers and attending games as regularly as I can. This resulted in me being at every game for the second half of the 2024-2025 season, during which I so happened to sit in block 19 for a game. From this moment I was hooked and have sat there at every game since. I've fallen so in love with hockey and become so obsessed with hockey that in May 2025 I became a season ticket holder for the 2025-2026 season in, you've guessed it, block 19! (any other block 19ers don't be afraid of saying hi to me at any future games!)
As well as this, I have booked to go to my first few away games for the triple header weekend in Scotland (say hi if you see me!) and the Belfast double header in March! On top of this I am also looking to book away trips to Sheffield and Manchester! And with how things are looking so far this season, I'm hoping it'll be just as good a season as last year, and I'm hoping for better! (Especially with the Continental Cup Final coming to the Motorpoint in January. I'm really hoping for the quadruple this year - a girl can hope!)
I'm hoping for this blog (along with my socials which I'll link below!) to become a space where I can share my experiences of being a first time season ticket holder and what I get up to on my away trips. As well as this I'm hoping to create an online community where people can get to know each other more and hopefully make friends from across the panthers nation and hopefully across the EIHL.
